Abstract

Digitalization is one of the dominant trends of our time. At the same time, the essence of digitalization processes has not been revealed in many ways, which is why artificial intelligence is described in rosy or gloomy tones. Some researchers believe that it leads to the loss of freedom and brings him all sorts of troubles. Others expect from him new horizons for the development of the world community and various benefits. The question arises of fundamental importance: is digitalization just another stage of technological progress, and exists entirely only within the technological base, or is digitalization and the artificial intelligence developing on its basis a form of global human transformation and substitution of its essence? There is no answer to this question yet. This ambivalence of digitalization is well recognized by Christianity; its assessment by Christian denominations is the subject of this article.
